Case Study of Malaysia's Building Materials Export Project

Shangqin International fully supports the infrastructure development in Southeast Asia under the "the Belt and Road" cooperation framework. With profound experience in exporting bulk building materials and a specialized logistics network in Southeast Asia, we have successfully assisted large state-owned construction companies in China to undertake the full supply of materials for important construction projects in Malaysia.

Project Overview

Project Name: Kuala Lumpur and Penang Integrated Building Project, Malaysia

Material types: steel, floor tiles, doors and windows, interior, furniture and soft furnishings, etc

Service mode: Door to door full logistics, covering domestic cargo collection, sea freight, customs clearance, warehousing, and on-site distribution

End customer: A well-known state-owned construction company in China (general contractor)

Direct customer: Trade and procurement company under a well-known architectural design group in Hong Kong

Eight major stages of the entire process operation

Step 1: Collaboration and Scheduling of Project Duration

Based on the project construction progress, accurately calculate the demand for various building materials, and use the shipping schedule and transportation period to deduce the domestic delivery time, ensuring seamless connection between material supply and construction rhythm.

Step 2: National consolidation and flexible loading

Full container shipping: Bulk building materials are shipped in full containers from Guangdong's original factory.

LCL consolidation: Scattered categories are collected at Shangqin Dongguan/Guangzhou warehouses, and after professional loading and reinforcement, they are consolidated and shipped, significantly optimizing customer transportation costs.

Step 3: Booking and Domestic Logistics

Coordinate the arrangement of shipping company cabins, dispatch trailers to extract empty containers for loading at factories and warehouses, and safely return the containers to the dock after weighing.

Step 4: Export declaration and document circulation

Efficiently complete customs declaration, synchronize with the Malaysian customs clearance team to coordinate bills of lading and clearance documents, and ensure early communication of information flow.

Step 5: Port Clearance and Efficiency Optimization

For large batches of containers arriving at the port (such as a single batch of more than 10 containers), a "pre-approval+speed up" customs clearance plan will be implemented, and materials will be submitted in advance for pre-approval, greatly reducing the waiting time at the port.

Step 6: Direct delivery to the construction site

After customs clearance and tax payment, the goods will be towed directly from the port to the construction site in Kuala Lumpur or Penang, where they will be safely unloaded to ensure the continuity of construction.

Step 7: Warehouse Management and Inventory Storage

Non urgent building materials are transported to Shangqin's local warehouse in Malaysia for storage classification, counting and labeling, and professional storage, forming a "backup warehouse" for the construction site.

Step 8: Flexible Supply Chain Delivery

According to the daily demand plan of the construction site, the local fleet will accurately deliver building materials and accessories from the warehouse, achieving "on-demand supply and zero delay response".

Professional support and service highlights

Time commitment: The standard delivery time for the entire process is 12-15 days, with a time error controlled within 5 days, providing strong support for the project schedule.

Transportation loss control:

Provide professional anti damage packaging guidance before container loading;

Standardized operations such as zone loading, force balancing, and bundling reinforcement are carried out in the warehouse to maximize the safety of goods.

Customs clearance guarantee: relying on a senior customs declaration team and a rigorous "single cargo review" mechanism (such as comparing product photos), effectively cope with the relatively high inspection rate in Southeast Asia and ensure smooth customs clearance.

Shipping resources: Maintain long-term cooperation with multiple direct small and medium-sized shipping companies, lock in stable berths at Port Klang, and have significant advantages in cabin space and freight rates during peak seasons, ensuring flexible and stable shipping schedules.
